The Dake 2-1/2 model compound leverage arbor press provides up to 6 tons of force to facilitate installation, removal, and pressing of items. The compound leverage mechanism requires less effort than a standard arbor press, and the press can transition into a simple leverage machine for applications that require lighter pressure. The handwheel advances the ram for quick placement near the object being pressed. The ratcheted lever lowers the ram onto the object with more precision and control than the handwheel and can be set at a comfortable position for the user. The smooth action gears enable fine control over ram movement with the lever, and a counterweight repositions the lever to the top after a downstroke to reduce strain and quickly prepare for the next task.
The open base and slotted table plate provide support for solid objects as well as an outlet for arbors and shafts to pass through. The plate can be removed or rotated to one of its 4 openings of varying diameters depending on the requirements of the application. The ram cap can be adjusted using the included 0.008"- and 0.015"-thick shims to adjust the ram forwards and backwards and to compensate for wear. The set screw adjusts the ram sideways. Three 41/64"-dia. holes are located on the base to enable bench mounting. Mounting hardware is not included. Press is assembled.

Arbor presses are hand-operated tools that apply high-pressure force to objects through a levered ram. Common applications for an arbor press include installing and removing components such as arbors, bearings, rivets, or compressing an item.
Dake Machine Tools manufactures arbor presses, hydraulic presses, drill presses, power hammers, band and cold saws, belt grinders, tube benders, and auto feed systems. The company, founded in 1887, is headquartered in Grand Haven, MI.
